Greta Winbush, Ph.D.
Subproject Principal Investigator

Research Goals

·         The proposed exploratory study will be the beginning of the Minority Eldercare Disparity Initiative at the Central State University’s Stokes Center on Aging

·         Investigate the use of web-based health technologies to improve patient-doctor relationship of African American elderly.

SUBPROJECT 2
Cell & Extracellular Matrix Interactions in Development of Tissue Engineered Cartilage

Asit Saha, Ph.D.
Subproject Principal Investigator

Research Goals:

·         Indentify the parameters both in cellular and extracelluar matrix domains that directly involved in the signal transmission from extracellular matrix to chondrocytes as well as from chondrocytes to extracellular matrix via the transmembrane receptor molecules, Integrins.

·         To study the electromechanical properties that lead to electro-kinetic phenomena of articular cartilage and its total impact on cell-extracellular matrix interactions.
